Oscar got cut while hunting/: help treatment?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oscars are tough, it'll heal. Do a nice water change and keep the lights off/dim. Try to find out how it happened and think about removing "X"

I can't exactly see the cut but in general just add aquarium salt, do more water changes to insure good water. That's about it I've had cuts heal in like two days. Cichlids heal quickly so he should be fine

+1 on the WC. Keep the water good, and maybe less feeding about 25% less, Oscar's are known to be messy eater and the scraps which your O made will affect the water, Don't worry about the cut, as they've said, it'll heal. Just monitor the water, cause I don't know, must be the lights, your water seems cloudy which may infect the cut leading to 'you don't want to be on that situation for both of you and your fish'.

actually guys is it possible that just some scales got pulled off somehow? thats what it looks like.like he rubbed against the driftwood and knocked like 4 or 5 scales off

When my oscar was little, it bumped up onto a rock and ripped a scale, it's possible. It healed within 2 weeks.

Actually, my baby oscar did the same thing too..

(healed now)

My first O all grown up <3
Trust me it's scary when it happens on an Albino one since it looks like they have a parasite or a hole/burn in their skin.

Oscars in my experience scratch really easily so that's very much a possibility. Anything in the tank that has sharp edges or sticks out?
