So cute when so tiny, a pair of eyes with a fish wrapped around them

A few years back I grew out an Oscar. My son picked it out and named it Tony, come to find out later on it was female so renamed her Toni.
This is what we started with

And a year later 20180830_170959.jpg
Hope the best for your future monsters.

How big are your oscars.
Love to see some pics if you could share.
i have an oscar thats been living in my green house pond for about 3 years pretty hard to get a picture of him maybe ill post a feeding video but hes gotten massive, he gets cichlid cull omega bottom feeder pellets and pallid roaches for food. here is one i got not too long ago at about 1.5” or less i chose him in particular because when looking for cichlids especially widely bred ones i always look for symmetry in the face and not the coloration itself for to make sure i have a fish with good genetics. the smallest picture was of him like a week or two after i got him and he noticeably doubled in size i wish i took more pictures of him as he grew.

I too feel the same.
I give importance to symmetry first more than colour.
A fish with good symmetry is more pleasing to look at.
That's a good looking fellow you got there.
Kindly share your feeding video if possible.

What are your plans for the future cause that many Oscars cannot fit in the tank you have?
And I suggest that you add something in the tank where they can feel comfortable. Such empty tanks seem to stress out small fish.
