Hey, I've had Jack Dempseys with my oscars and they always got along. But as long as the tank is big enough and you raise them from when their young you should be okay with a GT.

Tank size plays a part in this. And size. And the individual fish. Not necessarily in that order.
It depends on your tank size and how big your oscar is but a JD would be a sutible companion IMO but if you already have a big Oscar and really want a GT I say go for it
hey man two of my GT got a fatality from my Oscar. He just snapped and that was that. Also killed my pleco and hes going crazy on all my other fish. Occasionally tries to kill my other Oscar but so far its still alive. I need to move them out to a bigger tank.

this combination depends on so many other factors as well
like i got 2 4-5" GTs and a 5"+ oscar
in a 95g in the beginning the 2 GTs were always fighting and i could no longer stand it and gave away one of the smaller GTs and then the GT tried bullying the O and after that the O started giving hard time to the GT
i added a few cons in there and then the cons were always fighting and my GT and the O have been really peaceful
about the JD if the O is peaceful as they usually are it will be a nice combo but if by chance the O you got is a mean #%$^# then you might have to get another O and hope he is peaceful

A few years ago my brother had an Oscar with three Texas and a JD. From what my father says GT are very picky as to what tankmates they will tolerate. I think the JD will be as docile as the Oscar or vice versa.
