Oscar half eaten but still alive.....some advice?

First, let me say that I'm rooting for this fish. I'll be anxious for more photo/video evidence of his recovery.

Second, I think some people need to take a step back and put this in perspective. No comparison between the fish owner suffering a serious injury/receiving treatment and this $5 oscar's situation need be made. It's a fish that has a couple seconds of memory and whose entire internal structure works differently than ours in a situation like this. It's not a human being. We lose a leg, they stop the bleeding and give us an artificial leg. Nobody is gonna give this fish a new tail, but there is nothing wrong with giving it a chance to survive on it's own.

He means that he would like to see you euthanized. not that he would want it for himself.
He is incapable of understanding the vast difference between human medical treatment vs what the fish is getting, or even what exists for treating fish.
You & I deserve to being killed bcuz he disagrees with us (and veterinary protocol).
He would never volunteer to put himself under the SAME level of care as a fish (that one).

You can't reason with someone who has no thinking skills or empathy.

He should leave. He is provoking animosity, not the OP! I would have quit, if he hadn't wanted my death in a hospital setting. Now he wants yours.

I can never agree to putting an animal down because we think that's what it would want. As humans, we have a decision if whether we want to live or die. As animals, they will always have the natural instinct to survive. Whether its suffering or not...it wants to live and survive.
