Woops. That has been his staple food. What should i be feeding him?

Pellets, I recommend 2-3mm Hikari or New Life Spectrum pellets. Flakes are fine for smaller fish but they need more than paper as they grow.

He was looking good this morning, but tonight when i got home from work he had some black around where the wound was and his top fin was looking a little green....Could this be an infection? What is out there for that? I have the water temp at around 80 with salt and melafix.

Ack the black would be a sign of necrosis. :/ That's strange, doesn't look like it should be happening at all. He's definitely gotten past the point of primary infection, or at least should be. Been 9 days after all since the bites.

Don't really know what else you can do besides that which you have done tho, have to wait for others who know more for a better answer.

Yeah i'm not sure about the black and green either. As i was going back through the thread and saw the video and people starting to take things back, I got super encouraged for him! Then the black. A little concerning. I would maybe add more salt? I don't know how much you have put in there but I would think about a little more. Also, I would feed him meat. Get some beef heart, the high protein will help his flesh heal faster.

I would do daily water changes during this healing period as well. Cleaner will be better. Try to get some pictures of the black so we can see it and have a better idea of what it might be.
