Oscar Help!!!!! Need help ASAP

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wouldn't worry too much about his eyes. The slime coat just dried out a little around them. They should clear up within a day. Just let him be and don't feed him for a day or two. If he didn't get hurt on the way down, he should start swimming around like normal very soon. I have had this happen to more then one fish. One of them was an oscar that lived for many years, so I think he will be alright. Keep us posted.

Keep an eye out for secondary infections. Don't treat for anything unless your sure though.

thanx, i'm not too sure how long he was out of the tank for. I came in to the room from cooking dinner to find him on the floor. I have since strengthened the cover over the hole at the back of the tank to prevent him from moving it again.....lol....suicidal fishie.

Little bugger I just got him yesterday.

Good luck!

You did the right thing with the salt and stresscoat. You may also want to sing to him or play some soothing music ;) But seriously good luck and keep us posted Oscars are very hardy fish he should be good if he didn't fall from too far.

Oscars are pretty tough. Your doing the right thing with stresscoat and salt. Maybe put an airstone in there to give it more oxygen too. How big is it?

 Same thing happend to my puffer yesterday. Lil bugger jump out and when I came back home from work, he was all dried up. I thought I lost him but then I put him back in the water and he started to move!!! His eyes are cloudy as well. My dad walked by the tank and thought I took him out cause he didnt see him. That was at 12pm. I got home at 8pm!!! :woot:

keep the aquarium lights off for a while
till he feels better, light can stress a fish.

ya hes just streesed thats why hes hangin out on the bottom, if i ever move anything in myn tank my oscar des the samething sits in the corner and powts, he should be fine, there tuff

one of mine has jumped out 3 times and has been out for 15 minutes once, he lays around for a few days afterwards and has made a full recovery. Melafix helps speed the healing.
