I purchased a Oscar today from my lfs because it looked poor and i had extra tank space so I was going to try and help this little guy out. Well I was wondering if something besides just not getting enough food would make him look like he does. On the top of his head you can see like a bone sticking out where he is to skinny and right behind that it looks like he is sunk in on two places right behind his head. Could he have other problems other than being malnutrioned? What all can i do to help this little guy he is about 2 inches? Thanks

without pics its really hard to say , it couled be malnutrition, hopefully he doesn't have any internal parrasites , what color is his poo ? if it is white then chance are he has a parasite if he doesn't have one then with good feedings he will come back around just remember not to overfeed if he is as shrunken in as it sounds I am sure his tummy has shrunk as well .... be patient lots of care nice clean water and it will be fine
His poo looks normal. Looks like my other two O's who are at 6 and 7 inches.. his is only smaller lol.. I think he just hasnt been fed right because he is already eating and usually they dont eat til they get settled in good. but i will try and get a pic up. should i do a water change every couple of days to make sure the water is really clean in case something else is wrong with him or should i stick to my normal wc schedule?
This is the pic my boyfriend took while Otto was at the lfs didnt know he had taken it.. couldnt get one from after i took him home still waitin on him to settle in more but he still looks the same no changes
