Lay off the feeder goldfish! They are not good to feed your fish. Get him on a good pellet like hikari or better yet NLS. And balance that with some frozen food like market shrimp or krill,and the ocasional earthworm.

I tend to agree with the other two, feeding you oscar store-bought feeders can be bad as they are often hosts for parasites.

If you must feed your oscar live fish, try breeding guppies, platys, swordtails or some other soft-rayed fish. Keep the water conditions optimal, feed the fry quality foods, once they are grown out, gut load them with hikari, then feed them to your Oscar and Polypterus.
