Ok I need some suggestions for a picky eating Oscar who is getting constipated. She won't eat any peas and that is the only thing I know of that helps with this problem. She won't eat nothing but frozen Brine Shrimp, Blood Worms and Krill Shrimp. I cannot get her to eat peas or even a pellet of any kind and no she is not on feeders. Any suggestions I would really appriciate. Thanks!!!

ok well what you could do is stick a single grain of epson salt in a piece of food and that should clean her out.

just dont feed for 2-3 days and that will fix it. by that time she will not be constipated any more and will eat just about anything that hits the water. so this will fix both issues.

awww not feeding her is not a option lol I won't have any lids if I did that when she wants food she wants food and rams the lids. I will have to try the salt. Thanks!!!

oscars can go 2 weeks with out food. this is a good diet for oscars.
my first oscar petey (a red O) i fead him halkari cichlid gold pellits . . i feed my Os %75 dieit of halkari cichlid gold pellits %15 of frozen foods like mysis krill blood worms %5 of algea weafer and peas %5 of crickets and worms from LFS not from out side they might have deises. if your oscar is being picky , keep feeding it every day untill she eats it

i would starve it as well. its probably constipated partly because all it gets is frozen food. if you starve it and get it to take some peas and pellets, it'll be much better for the oscar. i doubt he'd ram a lid more then once or twice if you put a little weight on it.

you have to be firm with your pets lol.

I think what he's saying is he has no lids... so he's afraid she'll jump out.

haha funny no I do have lids lol actually I got her to eat some pellets finally after like almost a month and a half.

The best way is to not feed it for a few days or even one week, and when you do restart to feed it only small amounts of small foods at first.
