his tanks mates are green sev, and a pacu, he mostly does this after he eats or a water change, the water temp is at 78, im outa strips to test the perams. but the amonia levels are at 0
he/she wants a better friend lol

oscars are moody and very curious as in they check everything out. and i also think they are so smart that if you don't give them something new they will get bored and just lie there. i had 3 that got 14" in a 120 along with a 2 pacu's. when i got rid of all my decor when the pacu's got big they just seemed to lay around. they did it for years. none died so i don't think it's anything to worry about. but don't hold me to it.

if he pop's right up when it see you it's fine if i did pop up then i might get worried but oscar's are lazy and like to eat and eat so give it a work out with a mirror or something keep them busy

My O has always been doing things like that since I got him. I don't know if mine is to the same extent as yours but he likes to get between the glass and the filter intake while sitting on the substrate. It's like is using the glass and the intake to prop himself up. When I first noticed his odd behavior I was worried being that this was my first O. So I monitored his eating, breathing, and swimming or rather the lack thereof. Things were fine the next 12 hours when I checked him next. From time to time his behavior changes. If his tank gets messy bc he's a slob he will make sure he stirs it up like "clean this place up or hire somone to eat my scraps" he beat down a very large plwco. I suppose he doesn't like the maid service.

thanks for all the imput guys sounds like its nothing to be worried about, O's are really interesting fish, this was my first one and its truly been an experience so far with him, same with the pacu lol
