i have a small Tiger Oscar which is really getting punch in by a synspilum... I’m thinking to put the Oscar in a 20G for some growing and then reintroduce it back in (similar or bigger than the synspilum ).

atm Oscar ~3.5 and syn ~ 4.7. Think this can solve my problem? ( i thought syn are generally peaceful) ...

I wouldn't count on the oscar outgrowing the syn. Viejas can be aggressive and oscars are generally not aggressive to other species.

oscar will get bigger then the syn but syn would probably be on the more aggressive side but there usually not killers. grow out your oscar and then remove syn. add oscar for a couple days then add syn

once the oscar is bigger re introduce, syns are usaully only agressive to fish that are smaller.

I would think if you tank the oscar out for a while then reintroduce him. The syn will have established his territory and defend it even more..........

yeh, i did somewhat did do this. Removed the syn for 2 weeks, relocated and added new driftwood/rocks. But the problem was when i introduced the syn back in, it instantly settled down comfortably, back to dominate.

I think really is, individually one is aggressive and demanding, while the oscar is mellow.. perhaps size can change this?

anywho atm, dispute it being in 2ft i hope it can get bigger quickly so it can hold it's own..
