oscar people plz....

any one ever have a white oscar develop an oddly shaped lower jaw? almost like it broke and healed funny, it doesnt really affect him to much except the suction on his "strike" is less effective so he is being out grown by his tank mates another tiger oscar in black and a channel cat. anyone have any ideas as to the cause?

Is it crooked to one side, I see that a lot with all Oscars, I figure they did it fighting or bashing the glass and such.

that was my only guess but i have never witnessed him even so much as bump the glass, its just like an indent in the middle of his lower jaw, oh well maybe i can donate him to the lfs if the other oscar starts beatin him around to much

Giving a fish to a LFS is pretty much a death sentence. Especially with oscars. Take a pic in the morning right after you turn the lights on. He might still be sleeping and won't be moving.

Oscars get huge, most people who buy fish are ignorant. they will buy an oscar and cram him in a 20 gallon and feed him goldfish and never do water changes. Not saying he would definitely go to a bad home but it's a pretty good chance. Even if you have an awesome LFS, they need money, a sale is a sale, even if the customer is stupid.
