Hey peeps been awhile since i have posted anything on here but just one real quick question. My Oscars are acting a little weired I have two in a 125 gal tank and when they get near each their fins and tail start shaking. now to me that is a warning sign to back off!nether one of them leave they are always togather. I have heard that this could be some kind of courting thing? Just wanted to ask the pro's here on MFK before i got excited. I have the tank at 75 deg F right now and it has been like that for months. If they r a pair should i turn it up to say like 82 deg F?

Yeah that is what i was thinking but if they are not wouldn't that spark a fight in them with the temp change. that is why i lowered it in the first place.

You'll know for sure they're a pair when she makes him sell his motorcycle and get a suv or minivan.

I don't know about it making them fight. I had 3 and constantlly kept the tank at 80, they were fine till my common mated with my tiger. The male common beat the crap out of his brother.
If they were male and female(and mating) they really shouldn't fight that much.

leave 'em be... If it's courting behavior. Enjoy the show. they're obviousely happy w/ how things are if they are showing mating behavior. Never had Oscars breed though 'm sure a few have. they seem to be "challenging". If it ain't broke don't fix it. But it does sound like possible mating behavior and not territorial. Though i would keep a close watch to make sure one doesn't "flip-out" and kill the other as this seems to be common in Oscars kept in pairs.
