Thanks for your responses on a silly question. I suppose they do change color due to their mood and how they feel. Could have been stress or whatever too or lack of nutrition and good water or something.
Theres no silly questions man. If no one ever asked questions, then no one would learn a thing around here.

I had a tiger oscar long ago that was marbled as juvy and never had a hint of red his whole life. Had him til he was 11 inches He was a pet smart find, he was the most aggressive oscar i had ever seen too

How many different types are there? I know albino red and tiger, regular red and tiger, i know wild is just greenish being they are not bred for color.

Reason for asking is today i seen tiger oscar juvinile tigers around 3 inches at the lfs and they had no red. They looked black or dark greed with white where you would normaly have red. Have not seen this before.

A. Ocullatus, orbicularis, crassipinis, cf. rubrocellatus

Red/Tiger/Albino/Albino Red/Albino Tiger/Lemon/Lemon Tiger/Longfin Tiger/Longfin Red/Longfin Lemon and various others. There used to be dyed "Blueberry" Oscars but I haven't seen those in a long time.
