Oscar rescue ?s

Just a quick update...Still no pics, sorry! All I have is a cell phone and I get too much glare off the tank. He has been gaining strength and eating like crazy all weekend. He loves shrimp pellets and cichlid pellets. He now comes to the water surface and wags his tail when we go near the tank. His scales and fins seems to be healing quickly too! It's amazing to see this huge turn around in his health. Thanks for all your help everyone!

It's a great feeling isn't it? I recently rescued an albino oscar from certain death. A friend from work had a 10" oscar in a 55 but she and her husband wanted something different. Her husband was going to release the oscar into a pond behind their house...mind you it was in the low 40's that week so the oscar would have lasted all of about 10 minutes. Fortunately, she and I had talked fish a few times before so she asked if I'd be interested in taking Oscar. Since it was either that or death I took the poor guy. He was in my 55 for a couple of weeks but within the last couple of days I got things moved around and he's now in my 125 gallon with a few other 4-5" cichlids. He seems to really be enjoying the extra swimming room.

Good Save! Mine will go from the 29 to my 75 with a juvie JD and Chinese algae eater. I just went home for lunch and he is now trying to eat from my hand. I loved Oscars before...after this guy they are my favorite fish hands down.
