My oscar seems to lie on the bottom of the tank sulkimg at me, why is this?? prams are spot on, no ammonia, nitrite, and under 20ppm nitrate (think thats the right way around lol) and ph at 7.5....only tank mates are in my sig...what is wrong with the fella? eats spot on when ever i feed him...and has turned reallllly pale (i think this is from the light sand i added the other week and no black back ground any more...he has been doing this for a couple of days...thanks

i've had some oscars do this also. sometimes after overeating, or if i changed the decorations around, or no reason at all. after a couple or three days should be back to normal.

of course if he's never done this before then you may have other issues. is he breathing hard, any injuries? are the other fish acting different also?

Nope no heavy breathing, no loss of appatite...when hes not sulking no loss of energy, other fish havent changed, been like they have been since i got them so they are fine, waters fine, i just think i have a stroppy fish lol thanks

Oscars do really like change , did he sulk when you first got him and put him in your tank ?

Could be because you changed stuff in the tank , they sometimes do that when something changes in the tank , mine did it all the time when they where younger , couple of days and and your Oscar should be fine . As long as they ara eating ok and not looking like they have some sioort of illness your Oscar should be back to norrmal in a couple of days .

yea mine does the same wen i move things around in the tank, sorta like hes dissappointed but gets over it in a day or 2

Oscars in general like to sulk, some more than others. From the sounds of things you have nothing to worry about.

young oscars seem to do this more often.. he should be fine as long as he is eating and acting and looking normal in all other ways...

I think its just an oscar trait, mine used to do the same thing anytime something changed, such as the person feeding him, tank decorations and what not. He would sulk for a few days and then go back to normal. He did this the whole 10 years I had him.
