In the long run, I think a convict, Oscar and Jd will fill out the 125 nicely. Anything you add to that will just make maintenance more work.

A friend of mine has a four year old oscar and a common pleco in a 125. I know they're both really dirty fish but he has to work his ass off to keep the nitrates low.

And I can add to convict360's comment... I have a convict in a 48x18 45 gallon with a large school of barbs and I love that tank. He's not shy and he's always begging for food. It's awesome seeing him in a tank with that foot print because he has so much freaken room to dart around.
