Oscar tankmates (catfish)

you could do a bichir or another cichlid, i would personally do like 6 pictus and another medium growing cichlid

What do you mean by medium sized cichlids?

i mean that grows to 10-12in but no bigger than 12, another cichlid thats not too aggressive so as to over power the O but also doesnt get quite as large as the O will, like maybe a GT or severum or something

check out a pimelodus ornatus,,awesome looking catfish that grows about a foot.

Ok guys, so far I'm planning on these:
1 oscar
1 jack dempesy
3 pictus catfish
1 eclips catfish
Will I be over crowding?
And, will the jd live peacefully with the rest of the fish?

I currently have am stocked very close to that. I have
1 tiger oscar
1 gt
1 jack dempsey
1 sun catfish
3 firemouths
1 bumblebee cichlid(couldnt get along in my african tank)

I dont have any problems at the moment they all seem to get along well. The sun cat is only out at night but keeps all the leftovers cleaned up. I had some pictus cats but something killed them at night not sure what.

i still think mixing pictus with the eclipse cat will be asking for trouble once the eclipse cat has grown but i guess you can try it if you really want, and yeah the JD and O should be fine together just keep an eye on the JD some are total wimps and hide all the time and others can't stand tankmates, but with the O being larger it should be fine even if you get a more aggressive JD

im gona try a spotted gar and my oscar in a 125 and when the gar gets bigger ill just get a bigger tank
