Oscar tankmates

I disagree with this. In theory sure if you do 75 percent water changes every other day.

Agree

That's a little extreme. Oscars max out around 14", there is no reason someone with proper filtration would have to do that.

You cant really have proper filtration with 2 nitrate producing machines in such a small tank.

Very extreme lol. But I don't think two oscars would be okay in that tank. I have an oscar in my 125 with some mates and I couldn't imagine two of them in there. Let alone a 75.

Not very extreme at all to do that much w/cs

2 oscars need 55gal's of space bare minimum. You could do it, but it would not be a wise thing to do. Your looking at 2 12in+ fish in a 1-1.5yrs time. Trust me I've owned 2 big 14in oscars I kept in lone 75's one will fill that space up within a yr or so easy.

What I would recommend would be 1 of the following: severum, male convict, male firemouth, or if your into cats a featherfin syno. This will be much better for water quality and swimming space.

I have a 3 inch electric blue acara with a 4 inch oscar. They get along fine..the oscar chases a little but no biting. A pair of convicts would be fine with an oscar... not to mention free food. 2 oscars would require a lot more water maintenance. They are beautiful but messy fish.
