Oscars live wild in Florida, and our seasons get much cooler than in the Amazon . . . certainly can handle temps in the 70s . . .

O's do best in 26-29C, and they're really not good tankmates for sunfish, which prefer much cooler temps.
Btw, how big is your tank? Because multiple large sunfish + an oscar sounds like a pretty large bio-load to me, unless the tank is 150g+.
