it comes down to those fish are known to be aggressive. but there are plenty of instances where combinations work out with little to no issues it is up to you what to do and how to deal with what may happen hope it will work just fine but plan that they will tear eachother apart.

^^^^ Then they must not have been so small, remember that an oscar swallows everything that fits in its mouth.

Actually, my Oscar does have a big mouth and can swallow my 2 inch convict,3 inch salvini,3 in half inch cuban,3 inch firemouth, and 2 of my 3 in half inch OB peacocks, but like I said my Oscar doesn't see them as food and I give my Oscar minnows as a treat that are 4 inches or smaller.

It also depends of fish personality, I have had oscars who were so voracious that they ate just everything that fits into their mouth.

probably not gonna work but if you were to try it id get the oscar at a larger size than the other two so it can be the dominate fish from the get go. oscars seem to be on the cooler side in terms of aggression and ive always found that when the dominate fish in the tank not to be aggressively dominate but keeps everything under control

It truly depends on the individual fish. Most fish if not all in the Amphilophus genus are pretty mild as fry and juveniles. But once they mature and hit around that 5.5-6" mark a switch flips in them and they go on a rampage. The likelihood of getting a non aggressive Midas/Red Devil etc. is about like getting a hyper aggressive Oscar. I'd not go this route, maybe an Oscar, Texas and a JD. But no on the Midas.

That is how my brother's 3 Oscars were, they would eat anything that would fit in their mouth.I just got lucky in my opinion on a Oscar who knows a different between tankmates and treats.
