Hi, I have a 2.5-3 inch GT in a 100 gal with a common Oscar and a Tiger Oscar (I know I will need a bigger tank sooner rather than later) which are about 2 inches (the Tiger is slightly bigger) and the GT seems to be the boss of the tank and prowls the majority of it looking for intruders leaving the O's one little corner to swim freely and he loves to chase them about. So will they all grow at the same rate meaning the GT will be always bigger until it starts reaching its maximum size or will the Oscars overtake the GT and start to hold their own a bit better?

No. The Oscars will grow a little bit faster at least when younger. But still I think the GT will keep dominating them. My almost 8" GT was second in command after my 12" Jag although I have a 10" Oscar, a Paratilapia Polleni, a Carpinte and a 9" Vieja Maculicauda. Now I've done some moving and he's got a 100 gals all of its own.

I have 2 Oscars and a Green Terror that I got within a week of each other, they were all ~1-2" at the end of March. As of today One Oscar is ~8" the second is a little under 8" and the Green Terror is ~6". When I first got them the Terror ran the tank but for the past few months now The larger Oscar often pushes the Terror around and the terror is afraid to try and start anything with either Oscar.

my oscar outgrew my gt fast rite now hes 7'' and gt 4'' and its always a close match lol

Cheers, I was considering rehoming the GT but if things will balance out in a few months I might give it a bit longer.

Well the GT has took a few bites out of the Tiger O's fins (he doesn't seem to bother the common O as much) and his aggression isn't slowing down despite my leaving the lights off and increasing feeds so I am thinking about setting up the 38 Gal I have in the garage collecting dust and putting him in there for a while until the O's are a couple inches bigger than him before trying to re introduce him.

Is there any chance this could work or am I going to have to get him his own permanent home? (be it with me or someone else).

There are a few things you can do to try and break up aggression.

  • breaking up the line of sight, adding more fake/ real plants and or decorations
  • If your tank is big enough add a school of dither fish
  • Most extreme option IMO: remove all the fish from the tank, completly change the tank layout, like move things around or add some decoration, then add the fish again. This will hopefully make your tank more neutral territory

I'd say your O's are gonna grow faster but your GT will always dominate them. He's simply meaner and your fish doesn't seem to be the exception here. Size doesn't matter when you talk about Midas, GT, Texas, Trimac... etc. :)
