So my Albino tiget O used to eat a mixture of life spectrum and Frozen beefheart... but oine day just refused to eat the beefheart..so has been on strictly Life Spectrum but i would like to give him more variety..he is about a foot now and by himself in a 100 gallon tank..

had the same problem with my O. hes has been eating pellets since i first got him at about 3 inches. now i feed him freeze dried shrimp which he love. and frozen shrimp from the supermarket. and now he doesnt eat his pellets. just wait it out. hell go back to it. GL

did u starve him or just keep trying it? because he will let prawns just fall to the ground and stay there for days

i just didnt feed it to him at all. just fed him what he likes and after a few days i try different foods and he would eat it all up.

You are feeding your Oscar a very good pellet food. There is no need to force him to eat beef heart. NLS will provide the nutrition that he needs. A lot of people have problems with their fish being stuck on feeders. It's rare to find someone worried about a fish, especially an Oscar, being stuck on a quality pellet. In time he may take the beef heart again. Use it as a treat instead of an everyday food. Just don't starve him to make him take a food that is not a good and balanced meal.

Pellets alone are a balanced diet, they're designed so that the fish get all they nutrients they need.

NLS is 1000X better for him than beef heart.
I wouldn't worry about it.

Beefheart is only recommended as a treat and if fed too often can cause fatty liver disease, which is fatal. Stick to insects, crustaceans, worms and a high quality pellet. what are the chances of an oscar eating a cow in the wild?
