Picked up this tank today that came with an oscar. Face of the fish looks deformed. Any ideas what happened here and is it curable?

Looks like a birth defect also may have gotten mouth torn by another agressive fish.
If it's an injury, can it heal? I'm wondering if the lfs will take him with a birth defect.
You can keep the Oscar's water pristine and some areas may get better but his mouth will still be like that for the remainder of its life. No the lfs will not take the Oscar.
Oh well, I guess I will be taking care of an Oscar with a deformed face for awhile.
It's nothing wrong with that just shows your great character. I unfortunately purchased 3 Apistogramma that the breeder did not cull and decided to take care of them.
Thanks I originally just wanted the tank and filter but should have known something was wrong since the fish is six month old and only 2.5 inches
