Oscar with bristlenose pleco

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A 75 is not enough space for 1 semi-adult oscar, much less another tank mate.
By the standard of this forum Oscar in 75g is inadequate. But here in the Philippines, I saw pair of oscar breeding in 50 gallon tank and living from 12 years right now.

Ah, yes, the age-old MFK question:

My fish is overcrowded in a small tank all alone, and the water gets dirty...what additional fish can I add to solve this problem? 🤔
My water is fine. My issue is molds developing because of the uneaten food. My oscar create a lot of crumbs by crushing the pellet. So i think by adding additional clean up fish the molds would be gone.

yes i am planning to upgrade from 75g to 180g may be two years from now. Ornatus is rare here in the philippines. I saw a featherfin catfish and now i am considering to add it since it grows 9 inches
I just moved to the Philippines, living down in Davao. This is my second month now. Where do you live?

It will be a while before I can set up a fish tank. My current apartment does not allow pets of any kind. In a year though I will.

When I moved to Panama, it took me almost 3 years to get a tank size (adequate for the fish I wanted to keep set up), so far i considered it worth the wait.
And setting it up as part of the garden , has made some aspects a lot easier,.

I found a tank builder here in town, a 40b size is like 10USD so I am pretty sure I can get a 6x2x2 for a very reasonable price. Then have a local weld up a stand. And find a Festae male to put in it. Or a snake head, since they are legal here.

By the way, Asian arowana is also legal here.

I just stumbled upon your thread about moving to the Philippines a few days ago; you've barely unpacked your bags, but you're already looking into have a tank built???

You, sir...are an aquarist! :)
