Oscar wont eat

I still have no idea what is up with my oscar. I have tried almost everything that ive been told to try and he/she barely eats. My Oscar who used to eat twice a day, pellets and krill now will maybe eat once every three days if im lucky and usually it only will be krill... and only one peice at that. I dont understand. Maybe I just have a very picky oscar or could it be his tank mates? I'm new to most of this and my roommate used to help me with him but just recently moved out so I'm trying to figure things out on my own. My oscar is about 7-8 inches. Is he/she unhappy? I changed the water recently and it seemed to perk him/her up a bit but also my roommate put in some carbon in my rena filter and I didn't know if that may have messed up him somehow. Any imput will be greatly appreciated. :)

my oscar used to be picky, just try not feeding him like everyone said, and when you do begin feeding him again, make sure to feed him different things right away so that he gets used to different tastes and different types of foods

If you didn't omit feeding for at least a couple days, you really didn't do much.
All you are doing is polluting the water with uneaten food.

Try starving him as mentioned above, this should work. Then report back

let him starve for a week and he will start eating

I starved mine for 10 days to get him to eat NLS and he never did.

Oscars eat like crazy just dont feed him a few days and he'll eat whatever you throw at him

After the 10 days of starving to get him to eat NLS which he never ate, he refused to eat anything other then chopped up fish and starved him self for over 3 months.

I would say that my O is problally not the norm, but I would also so don't be super super worried if he doesn't eat for a week or two.

try superworms and cricket mine love them.

All my fish love worms I watched two of them rip one in half like pitbulls playing tug of war.

Should I wait a week then this time and see if he eats? Since last time I only waited 3 days before trying to feed again. I'm glad to know that he will be ok if he goes for a long time not eating.

I've reciently encountered the same problem and now my oscar is trying to eat my other fish but is ignoring the food I put in there. I'm worried if I try to starve him he will go after my other fish. He killed a fish and couldnt eat it because of the size. Sincee he killed it I cut it into smaller pieces and dropped that in. All he will eat is fish and ignores his food including frozen and garlic soaked pellets. :-( At least feeder guppies are 12 for $1. He is only about 3" to...

Be careful that is exactly why mine stopped eating I think is because of the feeders, he only wanted fish. Also as everyone points out feeders are poor health, I have used them twice and been lucky, others have used them far more times, but it only takes once to regret it.

I've offered feeders before but mine never seems to eat them, my jag loves them though but I try not to offer them too often since I've heard they are bad.
