how many years would a oscar stay in 55gallons tank and are they good for the first monster fish

Not too long. They grow relatively fast. I am not super experience with Oscars, but I would say no longer than a year, and that might be pushing it.

healthy oscar can grow pretty dang fast. judging by the few I have seen, maybe ayear

if you have good filtration and lots of water changes, you probably could keep one there for lie, although it is not ideal

what you could keep one for life in a 55 gal tank, but no take mates

for a year.A 12" front to back tank isnt enough room for an adult to turn around in.Sure you can do it,but its cruel.75g 48x18" minimum for an adult

the tank size i was think of buying is 121 x 55 x 41 cm

60 gallons are better since they're 18" deep but a 75gallon is ideal for a single oscar.
