Okay my dads oscar leans on his side all the time but he looks healthy as is there a problem.. we had the fish giving to us with his tank
hes been doing this ever since we got him but hes does it less n less
every time but some times he jus lays there .. if the convicts lay eggs in the corner under the heater he will lay on his side n look at them nd then reverse n swim away

got any ideas if he is sick or anything hes about 7-8" mayb 9"

Is he scraping against the ground? if so it could be a parasite.if not check your water parameters, tank size?? all alone?. I have also heard stories of oscars being depressed.

What are your water parameters? Foods you give it? Tank size and tankmates?

hes been like that since we got him, his tank was very dirty
when we washed it it was black water ( eww)
and yeah when the old owner came to see him she said he looks very good compared to when they had him ..

i no its a 3 ft tank
he has another lil oscar with him nd 2 silver sharks nd 2 electric yellows they all came with the tank ..except the sharks my brother put them in there

he wakes up straight away when its time for food loves his pellets
thats all my dad feeds him ... does he need live food ..?

Live foods are optional although you can give it a try but don't overdo it as most fish suffer disgestive upsets from excessive proteins, etc.
