You can't keep one in a 55 for life. Oscars get longer than 12", as mentioned above.

yea. its a 75 and they may actually b bigger. i just measured my levels and the nitrates are 10, nitrites are 0, ph 7.4. i took that pic about 2 months ago

ive got 2 oscars measuring 10 inchers in a 75 with 6 gouarmis and a pleco. ive got 2 400s runnin it and i dont do water changes that often and everything is perfect in it. it can def be done.

lol in that pic your filters show the intakes rounded which looks more like the aquatec not 400, my 400 have more of a sqaure intake tube not rounded and they are solid black not clear.

thats crazy you dont do water changes your levels are good. i have 1 oscar by himself in a 75 gallon with 2 emp 400 filters and i have to do a 50% water change weekly to keep my water in check. so whats your secert?

Also want to know. Using a nitrate coil?

no nitrate coil. i dont even kno wtf that is. lol. but i just feed em as much as they can eat. i dont feed the gouarmis. they pick at the stuff the oscars spit out in theyre messy eating ritual, and i thro in an alge wafer for the pleco every night at lights out. the my ruby usually finds it first anyways and eats it. i used to have a TT eel in there to, but he died over a period of like, 6 hrs one day. i still dont know why.. wasnt the levels i can tell u that much!
