Temp is not to low but they do like it a little higher. I think the problem is more a little fish in a new tank, he just hasn't settled in yet. If the convict was picking on him that just made him more reclusive.
Oscars are real drama queens even when their a foot long.

Temps are fine. They do like higher temps. Any tropical fish 77-82 is my ideal setup.

Just about anything can put an Oscar into sulk mode. Water change, new decor, new fish, they take a while to adjust to change. I've always seen it as a sign of their intelligence.

Night a day difference! He is out swimming now and eating good. He's doing great.

I usually aim for 79 degrees myself.

Hopefully the oscar is just doing this because of bullying. Oscars can be sensitive to water conditons. I've had some go off their food and just gasp at the bottom or top of the tank until death over the slightest thing when they were growing up.
