Oscar?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
haha, ayt i agree:) coz i'm really not used to seeing these types=/ so what's common for me is the tiger orscar.=/ sorry for that tho. hope he grows big! that'll be 6 oscars of diff varieties already:)

I bought a young oscar that was mostly black like yours, but with normal tiger oscar coloring on the belly. Now it is 9 inches long and is still mostly black, except when it's stressed.

ya sure mate..? coz if that's the same as that dude.. then he'd probably be a tiger or a red..=/ but my tiger red and other oscars (of the same size) have their colors already...

i guess i'm sticking with the wild oscar for now..=/

The fish in the link now looks exactly like the pics you posted. The general consenus around here is that mine is a regular/common Oscar. :)

just a common, my oscar was all black when i got it now he is full of color. just a question but i hope you have big tank for all those oscars, they need 55 gallons min each.

thanks guys:) so you mean to say the oscars varies from the time display their colors? anyways, no need to worry more than 100gs dedicated to each:)

Glad to hear that. Yes, oscars change coloration quite a bit as they mature.

Just a wild oscar. Nothing special. The colours should change a fare bit when he hits 4" or so. No matter what the colour variation, oscars all grow to the same sizes. Bob: You have 6 100G tanks dedicated to each oscar? Niiice!

The Oscar in the link I posted changes colors nearly constantly. It's a trip.

hehehe! thanks guys! i've been a aquarist since 5th grade! haha. a monster aquarist at that time. i've stopped for quite a few years to concentrate more on dogs and so... ryt now i'm currently reviving my collection of monsters and have a few tanks to spare... hehe! i'm also taking the challenge of trying other monsters.. it's like fullfilling a childhood dream:)
