Help guys!!! i was doin my regular water change yesterday (50%) when after i was done, i noticed my Red Oscar looking really sulky... I've treated the water to be free of chlorine and other bacterias as well....

His fins are tucked down and he tends to just stay on a corner or under a wood for some reason... he wouldn't eat much too as hes tankmates would... it's very uncharacteristic of hi... what could possibly cause this and what else could i do? heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp! :(

I am already giving him the traditional salt bath...

What, "other bacterias" are you treating for?

Explain what a "traditional salt bath" is?

How are your water parameters, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and pH? what was the pH level before the water change?

Along with that...what was the temperiture of the fresh water?

I don't know how expieranced you are with O's but they act like this whenever something upsets them. I had one Oscar get so bent out of shape that I put a new plastic plant in his tank that he laid on his side for three days until I took the offending decoration out of his tank...S/he may just not like you messing with the tank.

it's for clearing tap water off bacterias that ya don't want in tanks....
and the water have stabilized over the night and it's all to normal level (for the oscars) now... all the oscars (he's with 5 others) are doin well except him....

salt bath is when you put salt on the water to cure... usually for ichs but they say it can also be use to distress fishes....

If the otherr fish are showing no signs of distress hes probably just sulking. You could test ammonia nitrates nitrites to be sure

oscars are known to sulk. They will give you the cold shoulder for days at a time. I wouldn't worry if the other fish are fine.
