I got four baby O´s in a 90 g tank (350 litres). When they have become pairs, my petstore will buy two of them back. But I want some company for them and I love catfish but really don´t know so much about them. Are there any suitable tankmates for my oscars?

I have a 125 gallon tank with a 10" Oscar and his tankmets include a 15" RTC, a 14" TSN, a 9" Marbled Bullhead, 2 11" Red Bellied Pacus, a 12" Clown Knife, a 16" Pleco and 4 large kissing gourami. In my 55 gallon I have a 9" RTC with two 5" Oscars and some others and I have a 20 gallon with 2 baby oscars and a brachyplatystoma juruense together. So I guess it all depends on what type of catfish you like. They all seem to do fine together.

Oscars will be fine with most large catfish so long as you have adult oscars. Like 16-18"

sorry don't know much about oscars. but why do they need to be adults necro? i have a few babies with my perruno baby, jag babies, and perruno x rtc hybrid baby. do you see a problem in the future?

Just as fisto said, if you have O's in the tank with large cats. Even if they are the same size now you must remember that O's don't get as large, and their growth slows much faster than large cats. They are on borrowed time right now. As soon as it looks like the O is the same height as the catfish' mouth is wide he is in danger. That's why I say it is better to grow your oscars in a seperate tank. Better if you already had adult oscars in a bigger tank, and were growing your cats up, then they would probably do fine together. You are putting them at risk right now. Sometimes catfish may be able to live with smaller fish, but if they ever fast and you don't have food for them to eat when they come out of that fast your O's will look very appetizing even if they can barely fit in the mouth of the kitties.

ah i see. that i was already concerned about and been watching. when i get to that day i may end up moving em to a separate tank. thanks though

I have a 5 in four line pictus cat in with two Oscars (6-7 in) and the Oscars leave the cat fish alone.
