Oscars and Con's?

I think the combo that would work is a grown Oscar with about a 1" Convict. The Con would be fast enough to get away and being a juvie it shouldn't push it too much. I wouldn't try it though, they're too mean to Oscars for my tastes lol

That didn't work for me. My oscar was only 8" then when it ate a 1" pink convict. I'm sure it wouldn't work now that she's 14".

I have 1 pink convict with one Oscar and it's a meanie meeting. Sort of mutual respect.They neither taunt nor harass each other but they will take turns going after anything else in the tank.. In the other tank, 1 Oscar and 15 +/- Zebra Convicts without any issues at all.

No, both Oscars cannot share the same tank, BTDT!

That's good to hear I just started breeding con's as a treat for my Oscars. The first 100+ are growing out now.

You should make sure the cons are not too big, my oscar almost choked. She laid on her side for 2 days after eating the con, I didn't feed her at all for the 2 days. I believe I read somewhere that cichlid fins can be damaging to fish that try to make meals of them.
