He is 6 inches and is in with a 6 inch female JD, some Cons, a juvy red terror, and a juvy jag, and an Oscar. The JD runs runs the tank. He chases the Sal around alot.

Cool...looks like an example of "cramping" SA/CA cichlids is working as far as spreading the agression among tankmates, much like african cichlid set ups. Sorry...I have a thread going on that subject so it caught my eye.:D

Please don't add 2 more oscars to the 90. IMO 90 is ideal for ONE full grown Oscar, but I guess 2 would be ok. Kep in mind tho that they are MESSY and you'll have to do a lot of water changes. What are you using for filters? I have 2 AC110's on my 90 and they do a really nice job, lots of media in them compared to other filters I looked at (besides cannisters)

Good Luck!

The reason why i have four oscars is that wnen they becomed pairs, my petstore will buy back the other two. I agree that four fully grown oscars is little too much fish for my tank. But remember that they wont grow that large when theres no space.

Thanks again for your advices.
(sorry for my english)

Thats great that your LFS will exchange. Good luck with your pairing :headbang2

I'm sorry but I don't agree that fish will not grow large when there's no space tho. My view is that as long as their water is changed such that it is very clean Most, if not all of the time (regular w/c schedule) that fish in general will reach their normal length when allowed to mature.

I think that fish which don't grow large because there is not enough space are therefore being stunted, most likely because of poor water quality, not the size of the tank. That would not be good fish keeping to most people on this site IMO.

Sounds like you're on the right track with the Oscars so far. Have you decided on your filtration yet?

Just please make sure you do water changes at least once a week, pretty please?

oscars are cool fish, but man they are so dirty.

good luck!

Ok Ok! I promise to do regular waterchanges! :) for filtration I´m gonna use an external filter.
Are once a week good enough for waterchange or is twice a week to prefer?

I have those 2 HOB filters and I change water once per week (usually, we all have bad weeks sometimes :D )

I'd say you'd be all set with that set up and w/c schedule

i hate the whole "fish grow to the size of there tank" or "fish take longer to grow in smaller tanks. so im gonna go knock up my girlfriend have a baby put it in a crib for its whole life and see if it grows. damn lfs's. thats why im glad im the guy at my lfs.

I agree with cookiemonster. You wont be bored with the two O's. More importantly when they are full grown, you will be already tired of doing the neccesary water changes to keep things in balance.
