People always ask me why I insist on keeping big messy fish. WHY? Because oscars have personality. They say "why don't you just keep tiny fish that are cheaper to maintain?". WHY? Because they're boring thats why.

My dads oscar is the reason i love fish so much. I swear he could recognize my dads face.

I can say the same about my oscars, they can indentify who is in the front of thank - my mother or me :)

a few months ago there was a huge power outage in my area, none of my tanks had heating or filtration for several days, i didnt want to let any remaining heat out of my room so i slept on a couch and only went into my room to check on the fish once a day, every time i check on the fish they were all acting extremely sluggish and not moving around a whole lot, except for my baby oscar, he was just as active as he would be if the water was in the mid eighties. he was up at the front glass begging for food and watching my every move :grinno:

lol yesterday i got home and went up to my 55g my oscars were at the glass wiggling back and forth for food. I plopped in acouple peletsandf they went at it. The Beast (red oscar) was going for a pellet closer to me while tiny (albino red oscar) ws going for one on the other side of the beast. well they lunged at the same time and tiny ended up being flung out of the water 3" and I ended up soaked.

if they each went for the pellet closer to them they wouldn't have this problem lol.
