how can i tell the difference between a male and female oscar. right now i think my 2 oscars are breeding. they hang out by the flat rock in the tank, and dont let anything near it. my ruby oscar chases my tiger around. my tiger has the thing on his bottom lip that i think is used for cleaning the rock. idk. im trying to figure it out. help?

You can't tell the difference between oscars if they are male or female, only when the female lays eggs. It sounds to me like they are cleaning a spots to get ready for eggs.

Oscars are nest builders...Chances are they are building a nest and doing the breeding movements..Wait for another 2-3 days......Post up any changes........
