oscars fight to the death

lately ive noticed my cichlids had a few little battle scars... like a few scales missing here and there. today i woke up n walked over to them and i finally witnessed a fight. It was pretty intense... one of them ended up with a crooked mouth which seems to stay that way now...
i made a little video of it if yall are interested...

but is this normal? do oscars who school together sometimes have disputes like this or do i have a problem?

It is not a fight out of the ordinary...have seen worse. I would in a couple more oscars. Should reduce that tension.

if i itnereupted they would stop until they saw eachother again n then go at it

exactly.. when mine fish i stick a net in there and give the instigator a lil chase

The title is misleading don't you think? A broken lip is far from death unless it permanantly couldn't eat. Hopefully he'll live. Other than that it's a cool video with well chosen background music.

I've only ever had 2 oscars. The one killed the other one and I gave the survivor back to the LFS cos he would try and pick fights with all the other big fish in the tank, even the jar who wa almost twice his size ... so I'll have to agree with the OP.
