looks like a ritural to me.....give 'em a big piece of slate (burry it and they'll clean it off) then set-up a grow out tank for all the babies!

ur right it does look rather disgusting in that video. i do weekly 20% water changes though

.Oscars usually start to spawn their second year. How old are they? They look a little small judging from comparisons to the other things in the tank. Never the less, this behavior is a good sign.
