So, I got two rescues awhile back from the same person. An albino Tiger Oscar, and a reg. Tiger Oscar morph. She raised them herself, and was moving, which is why I have them now. They are both stunted, because they were kept in a 20-Gallon all their life.
Now they are in my 60-Gallon, and I have been noticing that the reg Tiger has been really aggressive towards the other tank-mates, and chases them away from the Albino. And every now and again he will push at her.
They are both in the corner of the tank, which is where the reg. Tiger chases away anyone that gets too close.
He continuously bites at a rock that is on the bottom of the tank in the corner, and now seems to be pushing away sand as well as I'm writing this. I do believe that the reg. is the Male and the Albino is the female. I also looked at their "undersides", and from what I can tell, it looks like I suspect.
The female bites at the male's side once in awhile, even lip lock every now and again, but once he fights back, she backs down. Just a few weeks ago they were fine. No aggression at all in a 55-Gallon. I read that aggression can be a sign of them getting ready to spawn.
Anyone ever breed Oscars before? Does this sound like I should see some eggs soon?

I could be one of two things..........
1) They are starting the courtship process
2) Its just normal oscar behavior

My female regular oscar beat the crap out of the male albino tiger oscar. I let it go as they both had been alone their whole lives. Now they are mated up. Is the suspected female running her bottom jaw along the rock? That is how I figured mine were mated up. The male doesn't do it at all. But I have had 2 sets of eggs now. The first was a trial thing. The male protects the female from the new oscars I have put them with. While they were in the tank the baby oscars are in now they were with a salvini. The oscars kept the salvini away from the rock and the albino would fight like yours are. There is a good chance they are mating. If they are male and female you will have to find out if the eggs are fertile and see which lays the eggs.
