does he still do this when you feed? next time you feed try staying by the tank for a few min and watch him, so that he gets used to you and associates you with food, oscars are VERY food motivated and will come out of their shells very quickly when any kind of treat is presented lol
Also will oscars eat baby crays from 1.5"-2". I think they wld if they r full grown but idk. Cause i was thinking of breeding blue crays to sell and left overs as feed to mix there diets up
oscars are not very tough fish-they are sulkers. mine are trying to convince me that im starving him to death.. he wags his body and does everything he can to get my attention every time i walk past the tank...
or he will face the corner closest to me trying to watch me and get me to look at him. big baby.
lets just put it this way, i once got a blue cray thinking "wow this thing is gorgeous" in the days where i still impulse bought things and threw it in with 2 juvie oscars in a 120 (5ft) tank with plenty of hiding spaces and the first time he molted i came home to find a soft cray with no legs if you want to breed them i would just set up a smaller tank and keep it as a cray only tank as any smaller fish will also be at risk of being eaten by the cray
No im saying breed the crays in other tank take the fry after hatched and good engh size use them to mix up ther oscars food not put crays with oscars...
