Oscars in 150

give me a good stocking that contains an oscar
with pics of fish please

Knowing what I know now. I would only do 2 Oscars if you can get them to get along. You can try SD's , but their super skittish along with get the size of a small dinner plate. You also need a min of 6.

I would get a group and hopefully you can get a pair. It will be pretty bare for a little bit, but Oscars grow fast.

I kept mine with a featherfin cat. I tried a severum, but it would get beat to hospital tank pretty frequently in a 125.

Spotted or stripped silver dollar's get to 6in max so not so giant as others

1 fully grown 13-14" Oscar will fill a 150. It's not maintenance imo it's the space for swimming.
Do this...

1 Oscar (buy last preferably wild)
1 ornate pim
6 spotted dollars
1 gold nugget pleco (buy large)
Possibly a trio of blue acara (just like GT but smaller.)

They tank will be much more pleasing having one center piece Oscar than two or multiple large cichlids battling for space.

This all depends on how much work you want to put into it. 150 isn't a huge tank and these fish put out a pretty hefty bio load once they mature.

I have a male pearsei who was kept in a 150 for quite some time and unless you want to be doing multiple wc's per week then forget about trying to make this a community. An adult Oscar will fill out a 150 nicely.

Man, what happened th that angelfish set up you were going to go with?
An Oscar would be cool but forget about plants and a nice scape, that's what stopped me getting one a while back.

I like playing around with other ideas.

My dad REALLY doesn't like Oscars so I will have to go with a small community.
Here is a question:

My stocking will probably be:
10 Angelfish
1M + 3F Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlid
1M+1F Bristlenose Pleco
Maybe I will keep my 5 C Loaches
And then I have room for other fish...

I was wondering if there is a bichir that would be able to live with the stocking above?

Any species of bichir will probably snack on those apisto's when it's large enough. Not great to mix with smaller fish, they will attempt to eat something even if it's a little too big, and might choke on it. Happened to me once with a Senegal bichir and pictus cat.
