Get a 300 wide. The fish you metion would rather have the width. Get some cichla. Rich from infinite aquatics has some cichla orino's @ $15 each. They are from the rio meta river. Excellent colors as they mature. Check out the cichla media section for some pics. They would be a great addition..3+.

As long as you have dithers Midas(Not sure how people got that confused into Red Devils) and Jags should be fine. Not sure I would do so many though. Maybe mix in some smaller-middle sized cichlids like Salvini's, Convicts, ect. As long as the jags are well fed they sould be fine if grown out with the others.

I do have a handful of salvinis (bought a group of them in hopes of ending up with a pair) and could add the "extras" to the larger tank... I just don't know whether I'd feel comfortable with leaving them in there with the jags are full grown.

Oh, and @ gangster: I looked up the cichla orinocensis. AWESOME looking fish, but I'm setting this aquarium up for my parents' new house and they really, really want the jags. I will, however, end up getting some for myself when I finish graduate school and move into a house of my own, lol.

i have a 14"jag with a 12"devil and a bunch of other smaller fishes, the jags never eaten any of the small fish all these time they are in a 260g, however i had heaps of baby jags from my breeding pair only to ended up with a male and 2 females coz they've eaten through their brothers and sisters, heck he even ate my dovii babies 3/4 of his size.
