My oscars are putting on an inch every 2 weeks. I feed them 10 times a day.

two months ago they where 2in they are now 5-6in

wow 10x a day. thats crazy. lol my oscar i feed 1once a day untill he was about 6 inch then feed 3x a week. he grew about an inch a month untill he hit around 9 inches then slowed down.

to the op: if your oscar are not growing, try doing more fequent water changes. fish release hormons that can prevent them from growing. The tank being a 65 gallon, even with a sump IMO is too small to house 2 oscar for life.

I hope you feel guilty keeping fish incorrectly like this...

Tank gets 50% water change every day and feedings are supplemented with vitamins every day. My oscars are growing and always full. Every time I see the oscars begging for food they receive it, usually adding up to 10 feedings a day.

Water quality sounds like your issue OP

note- I noticed crazy growth from them and more begging of food when supplementing vitamins into the water.

My oscars are never full, they buldge until they hit the bottom of the tank. If I don't feed them they will eat the other fish in the tank.. They ate a jaguar last week because I fed them in the morning and by night he was torn to pieces..

That's the post I have a problem with. Couldn't care less how many times a day you feed your fish... but I know you don't feel guilty now! Perhaps you don't know what's wrong with the information you posted above?

Oh I'm not the OP by the way...

... Whats there to feel guilty about? I can't control a fish eating a fish. If a fish dies from water quality or disease then I feel bad. It was just an expensive meal.

I bet you cry watching animal planet..

I noted OP so it was directed to OP, but glad it made your feel special.

You can't control a fish eating a fish? But I thought you over feed your oscars to control that? Hmmm
In reality though you can and should control who eats who. That's part of the responsibility of caring for something else. Would you allow your dog to eat your cat?

Apologies on the op thing I misread your posting...

LOL you can tell if a fish is randomly going to eat a fish? I wish I had your fish speaking skills. I never said I overfeed, one day I only fed once and thats what happened.

Release the tree bro

i doubt the hormones are going to be excreted that copiously in a 65 . But it could happen. To be honest, i dont have the time for 50% water changes everyday nor the money to do that. I think i am seeing a small amount of growth when i feed them small feedings. They get to extract all of the nutrients. I have been slacking this week with my one 50% change but they seem as happy as clams. :)
