Love to see tank and Oscar pics for inspiration.. also anybody have any growth or progress pictures..?

I would suggest just 2 also like to applaud you for having an aquarium that size already. Jexnell Jexnell has a great thread on Oscar growth. I'm sure he will chime in.

If it was me I would do a pair with Silver Dollars and Ornatus catfish.

Get six or so small Oscar's and let nature takes its course. Keep the pair that forms up, rehome the other four. Get SDs and cats on the bigger size cause we all know the Oscar's will outgrow them.

You can check out ups and downs of my Oscar's growth and development here

Thank you Jexnell.. i will look into thread now, ornatus catfish i think from memory here in Australia are pretty rare and quite a hefty price..i do have a trio of royalwhiptail catfish in the tank now with the single oscar.. wondering if they will be ok long term

That’s 300 gallons.... good for your u and I will get flamed for this but you could almost get away with that magic number of 5. That’s a huge bioload but that’s 60 gallons a fish and more than enough swimming room. a nice big group of oscars would be an awesome sight to see and a dream tank for me. You’d have to do a big water change 50% weekly and have good filtration. If you had a big sump (125 perhaps) I wouldn’t hesitate to do it personally. Again flame on community :)

that would be an awesome sight DonnyB!!!! Very awesome...
I was thinking 3 oscars, a group of green horseface geos and a trio of firemouths perhaps....
But a group of 5 oscars would be an awesome sight to see...
Current filtration is a fx6 and 4ft sump with 5000l/h pump.
Alot to think about..
