Oscars...Questions..

Ha! I did the same thing in a 90 gal tank. Oscar > discus > boredom > solution = a new Oscar. I have other tanks but that’s the story of the 90 over the full 15 years i’ve been in the hobby. Most of my advise beyond my own experience is based on a lot of reading articles, these boards, YouTube etc. a lot of bad advise out there but this board seems to harbor serious hobbiest and a lot of experience and answers. As soon as I stop moving around,so much i’ll venture into a bigger tank like yours. Either doing the Oscar group of 5 or 6 or trying out a Dovii pair which i’ve always been curious to try. I’ll always have an Oscar for sure. Love my Midas and jags but... the jag is pretty new and a headcase, the Midas is just as interactive as the O but I’m pretty sure he wants to kill me most of the time. My O sits right next to me in the tv room and is a sucker for any attention she can get. It’s freaky how she is always trying to make eye contact and get me to come to the tank. It’s not even always food driven.

Have you ever seen the newish color variant called ruby reds. I think they are an albino variant and I saw them posted for sale for the first time a while back when I was trying to figure out what to do with my new 125 gal tank. They are simply stunning.

This fish in particular is my favorite Oscar specimen i’ve ever seen.

I think they are just albino reds that have been bred for their bright reds... Not 100% on that though

Yeah was considering just a lone pair of jags for this tank.. or Dovii ...so hard to choose when i have only 1 tank... but that was the deal with the wife..lol
Rid of all the other tanks and get the 8ft..

WOW that is amazing!! Haven't seen or heard of them before...

It’s funny I bought my 125 from a guy that made the same deal with his wife. He installed what looked like a 500 gallon tank.

I love those, some people call them Chili Red / Pepper Oscars. Never seen any in my area though.
