I have a 3.5-4 O in a 55gallon with 2 sevs and a gourami oh also i random tiger barb (don't ask)
Any way he has a lump by his anal he is eating fine, I'm feeding him "king British floating cichlid sticks" and beef heart, he is his normal piggy self and eats as many pellets as he can in one go.
As far as i can see he is pooing fine with no problems .
He is very fat in the picture as i have just feed them so you may not be able to see very well, i will post some more pics when he is not as fat.

He is also very friendly and will not stop wagging his little tail at me so it is hard to get a good picture.

I feed him twice a day morning and night, he usually eats about 6-8 1cm pellets. He eats 3-4 pieces of 1/2cm cubes of beef heart, 3 times a week.
My ammonia test kit ran out last week so i need a new one but i can't get one until the week end here are the other:
NO3: 150
NO2: 0
GH:3
KH: 4
PH: is very low for some reason : 6.2

I use dip sticks so i just read the reading from the sticks.

I have a over head filter that came with my tank so i ample and i have a bubble wall all over the back wall.

Please help and if you need any more info please let me know.

I think you overfeed. My oscar doesn't eat even 10% of what yours eat.
I also think you should change water ASAP.

the term over feed is to feed in excess amount to where the food is not completely consumed

Excuse me for not always using your definitions skinny guy. My Delgadyddish is far from perfect. I thought that "overfeed" (in English) = feed too much.

I do believe this fish eats too much. Ergo it poops too much, is too fat and makes the water too dirty.

Just an idea.

as long as you have adaquate filteration and perform weekly water changes you wont have a problem

Not gona argue withya Delguru. The guy needs help.
I say: change water and stop feeding for a couple of days.

Most Oscars are overfed.

I think there maybe a problem with digestion ! either a change in food may have cause it some internal problems !

their nothing wrong with him

babys should be fed frequently anyways

the big bellie should go down

now when he get older ( oh say 5-7in) you may want to slow down a bit and fast 1-2 times a week to clear his gut out
