I have kept a shoal of 9 piranhas with one Silver Dollar since the piranhas were 1 inch long and they are now six inches and the dollar is still doing great

my college bud has both oscar and rbp in 10gal...eventually it was oscar get eaten by a rbp..yeah I know my bud is newbie.

Yep. If you want a "community tank" that involves other species besides piranha then piranha's aren't what you're after.

Doesn't matter if the oscar has established dominance in the tank, the piranha will eventually get to the oscar and nip fins if not worse.

yah that why theres a but there, give a couple of days for the piranha to feel at home and that's it for the oscar

As long as you keep the rbps well fed and your tank is really really really big then I think it can work out.
