Oscars wo't stop eating

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
3 times a day seems excessive to me. ive been feeding my oscar once a day from 2" to 5", then every other day up to his current 10". growth rate of 1 1/2" per month.

all that extra food just leads to excessive waste output.

agreed

Oscars are beggers and will eat until they are sick... the only thing overfeeding does is give you alot of water changes...especially with Oscars ...they are messy... so to keep them healthy feed a little less... of a good varied diet....

Oscars never stop eating unless (like mine) a GT beats the snot out of him. I hope it works out for you.

I found that the overfeeding spread a nice layer of chewed up large pellet for my small dempseys and bottom feeders.

All depends on your tank circumstances.

Yea, i've got a littel 2" firemouth that will help clean up the messy eating of the two O's.
