Small groups of small Oscars are so adorable when they swim around together...

But more often than not 2 randomly chosen Oscars will not get along as adults...

I've done 2 with no problems and super filtration.
Its a hit & miss with 2 though, I happen to get lucky

like the other guy said. id go with one and a small friend so he isnt bored.

10 no doubt then throw in some red tail cats

One would be the safest bet and possibly save you a lot of trouble. Two is very hit or miss. Most info I have seen tells you that you are safe and wont have any trouble if the O's are small and haven't hit sexual maturity in a 75G. I tried growing out 2 O's in mine, both about 4 inches and overnight one almost killed the other and forced me to get rid of the aggressor. Just not worth the trouble in my opinion.

Before buying 2, ask the LFS if it doesn't work out, can you bring it back. You won't know until you actually try it out. I do agree with others saying one is to be safe, but gets boring when he/she sulks. So a tank mate keeps him busy and on its fins. Good luck
